Valentines Day!

Over consumption is the excessive buying and using of products that we don’t need. Its causing over flowing in landfills witch is leading to pollution. Over consumption is also leading to more environmental problems like climate change and deforestation. the deforestation is caused by us using our resources to make unnecessary goods and products. Due to the we are experiencing is resources depletion. A big reason for this is consumerism or the idea that buying new things will make us happy. Another big contributor is influencers when they promote products to a young audience or people who are easily impressionable

Well to start you shouldn’t buy things just because they’re trending because as quick as it comes to popularity it will be out just as quick. Another way you could help is by sewing up old clothes or other things that are ripping. You could also take old clothes that people are getting rid of and repurpose them. Check out the link above to learn some cool ways to recycle!
There are many ways to keep from being a part of the over consumption and consumerism to start you could do meal planning as well as eating leftovers. Something I recommend is cooking at home because it would create less waste and what you do create is more easily degradable. Another big help is to wait before buying or just thinking about it in the store things like how would you use this or would it just sit there not being used and eventually getting tossed out. Lastly, you could walk in marches or even just go out and watch them to show that you support the cause and would like to be a part of the solution.

Even as you’re getting older you could still be a part of the solution. To start you could buy better quality items so as to not replace it so often. But if this isn’t something you are willing to sacrifice more money on then you could repair the ones you already own. Another good way to help is to donate the things you’re no longer using whether that’s to friends and family or your local thrift shop(s). The last thing i recommend is a compost bin where you could dispose of old food that way its not polluting the environment.
